A society that is free from poverty and which all citizens are empowered and enjoining their rights to a fair, just and equitable share of country’s wealth resources and power.
Active Support for Rural People’s Initiative (ASURPI) was established in February, 2007 and registered as a Civil Society Organization and incooperated with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in March, 2010 with registration no. CAC/IT/NO37644. The organization is run by Professional and experienced staff which is headed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and governed by a board of directors. The board meets on quarterly basis and make decisions that guide the organization’s development and the meetings are chaired by board chairman and two-third of the members must be in attendance before any decision is finalized.
The flow of information is up-ward and down-ward. ASURPI’s purpose of coming into being is to address the poverty status of rural people especially women and children. ASURPI’s work is built on mutual trust and respect, it allows communities to take a lead in the identification and prioritizing their needs and coming up with practical solutions on how to address such issues and assist to fund their work, facilitate their learning, develop their capacity and provide credible alternatives to over 25,000 people in Kebbi State.

To work with the poor and marginalized communities, through building partnership with local civil society organizations, government agencies, private sectors and the donor communities to fight poverty and empower the poor to overcome inequities and injustice.
